Christ’s Peace House of Prayer, established in 1971, offers a sacred refuge where hearts can draw near to God in silence, prayer, and the beauty of His creation. Rooted in the Catholic contemplative tradition, our mission is to foster prayer, renewal, and spiritual growth by providing an atmosphere where individuals encounter the Lord through silence, solitude, and the natural surroundings.

At the heart of Christ’s Peace is a charism of quiet hospitality—a wholehearted welcome that creates space for each person to rest in God and listen for His voice. Our cabins and guest rooms offer a peaceful setting where retreatants can step into the stillness of the prairie and woods, the contemplative silence of the grounds, and the restorative calm of the outdoors. Whether you seek a day of recollection, an extended retreat, or simply a quiet place to be with the Lord, Christ’s Peace House of Prayer invites you to come, reflect, pray, and deepen your relationship with God.

The contemplative mission of Christ’s Peace was inspired by Scripture:

  • “Be still and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:11

  • “My house shall be called a House of Prayer for all people.” — Isaiah 56:7

To ensure that a staff member is available to greet you and to protect the privacy of our guests, we ask that you call to make a reservation before coming for a tour, a retreat stay, or spiritual direction.

Staff desert days are Mondays and Thursdays.
