How Confession Frees Us

We all carry things that weigh us down — mistakes, regrets, things we wish we could undo. But here is the good news: You don’t have carry them anymore.

Confession is your path to freedom — the freedom to be at peace, to be joyful, and to be back in a relationship with God. This Lent, take the first step to reclaiming your life and lean on His mercy and grace.

How matter how long it’s been, come back, come home. He is waiting for you.

How to Go To Confession

  1. Pray and make an examination of Conscience. Click here for a listing of examins and answer the questions to yourself. Make note of your sins.
  2. After entering the confessional – Together, you and the priest will make the Sign of the Cross. You may then begin your confession with these or similar words: “Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. It has been [give days, months, or years] since my last confession.”
  3. Confess all your sins to the priest. When finished you say “For these sins, I am truly sorry.” The Priest will then say a few words.
  4. He will then ask you to Pray the Act of Contrition prayer out loud.
  5. Do the penance the Priest gives you.

"For sin is not to have any power over you, since you are not under the law but under grace."
