If there is one single Church teaching document that best describes what it means to be “pro-life”, the Gospel of Life is it. The Gospel of Life sets forth a compelling Catholic vision of life based on the dignity of the human person, made in the image and likeness of God. It also speaks frankly about the very real threats to human dignity in our modern world and concludes with a stirring call to become “people of life.”
The papal encyclical, Humanae vitae (HV) written by Pope St. Paul VI in 1968, provides beautiful and clear teaching about God’s plan for married love and the transmission of life.

Spiritual Adoption - The Spiritual Adoption Program saves the lives of unborn children at risk of abortion. Spiritual Adoption is an age-appropriate family-friendly program based on an idea by Archbishop Fulton Sheen which is accomplished through intercessory prayer. Participants in the Spiritual Adoption Program pledge to pray for nine months for an unborn baby. Since the child is adopted “spiritually”, it is not necessary to identify an actual unborn child. This can be done in a parish or school setting, with age appropriate materials. At the end of the nine months of prayer, a baby shower is held to gather items for a local pregnancy resource center or other organization that provides support for mothers and babies.

The Sisters of Life and the McGrath Institute for Church Life team up with CampCampo Films to bring you an original 12-part video series based on the work of the Sisters serving women who are pregnant.
