Planned Parenthood Prayer Support Initiative

Join us in fostering a peaceful and prayerful presence to support women and babies in need. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the power of prayer at this location (Planned Parenthood - 6013 Leavenworth Rd in KCK) and encourage compassion, hope, and life-affirming support.

The goal is to have at least one parish commit to covering each Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Parishes are encouraged to gather a group of 5-10 individuals (or more, depending on parish size) to be present in prayer during their designated time slot.

Please consider signing up your parish to ensure we maintain a continuous, faithful presence. Your commitment is invaluable in making a difference.

KS Supreme Court Ruling Anniversary

The Kansas Constitution begins by giving thanks to "Almighty God for our civil and religious privileges." It then says: "All men are possessed of equal and inalienable natural rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." On April 26, 2019, the Kansas Supreme Court held in Hodes & Nauser MDs v. Schmidt that these words protect a supposed natural right to abortion.

Join Archbishop Naumann in praying for an end to the supposed natural right to abortion in our state and a conversion of hearts so that Life might once again be protected as was intended by our forefathers.  In reparation for the harms against the unborn, expectant women and families, we encourage parishes to offer an opportunity for prayer.  Communal prayer could be in the form of:

  • A holy hour with adoration
  • The recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet either in the church or adoration chapel, or if that is not possible, to be done individually, preferable at the mercy hour of 3:00 pm
  • A Rosary (click HERE for printable resource)

Solemnity of the Annunciation

The Solemnity of the Annunciation commemorates the visit of the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary to inform her that she was to be the mother of our Savior. It calls us to reflect on the blessing of new life and how we are to care for, protect, and welcome new life as the Blessed Mother did for the Christ child.

All expectant parents are invited for the blessing.

All are welcome!

NOTE: This event is usually celebrated on the Solemnity of the Annunciation which is March 25th, however, sometimes a different date will be chosen.

8th Grade Life Matters

The Pro-Life Office is excited to once again offer our “8th Grade Life Matters Day!”  It will take place November 6 at Savior Pastoral Center and is free to all of our schools.  This will be a one-day faith-filled, positive, and interactive event to help our students to know
  • they are created by a God who loves them
  • all life is sacred and has value
  • we are all called to defend the most vulnerable among us

Divine Mercy Celebration

Defenders of Life Youth Camp

The Pro-Life Office is excited to host its third “Defenders of Life” Youth Leadership camp this summer!  It is tentatively scheduled June 23-25 from 10a.m.-5pm*. Location is yet to be determined. This formational experience will be packed with fun, food and friendship and will consist of interactive presentations, service and prayer.
 
Defenders will leave with tools and confidence to help build a culture of life in their schools, youth groups and communities. Open to incoming high school freshmen- seniors.

Foster Care Appreciation Event

In appreciation of your answering the call to love and care for God’s precious children, we’d like to offer you the gift of free time! Your kids will have some Summer fun while you enjoy some time away! This will be an adult-supervised afternoon including a bounce house, games, crafts, a reading nook and a movie, if time. A pizza dinner will be served. Hope you will join us!

"Growing Up Girls" Fertility Awareness Event

The Pro-Life Office is excited about our new partnership with Molly Price APRN, FNP-C, MSN, and her new "FACTS" Fertility Appreciation Education for girls, young women, and their mothers.
 
She offers her "Growing Up Girl" program for girls and their mothers in two age groups - ages 9-12 and ages 12-14: "A Christ Centered approach to teaching about God's beauty and design of the female body in an age appropriate, fun and informative way for Moms & Daughters."  This is a wonderful resource for families.

Molly Price, is a Nurse Practitioner who cares for families at Olathe Health Family Medicine – Blackfoot.
