In general, the apostolic work of the Poor of Jesus Christ covers multiple ministries, including street ministry, prison ministry, Magdalena Ministry, Be Sober ministry, and ministries to couples, youth, and kids. Depending on the reality of each place we are located, the consecrated religious sisters, friars, lay associates, and volunteers make themselves available to attend to the needs of the poorest of the poor. In the Kansas City area, we serve the homeless population, men and women, twice a week, providing meals, sack lunches, and clothes, among other things. We also have a pantry to serve the low-income families in the neighborhood who need essential supplies. Still, we try to establish friendships with them and evangelize. We also serve the Hispanic community through retreats, formations, and spiritual guidance for couples and families.
