A Blog to share thoughts on what it means for a Catholic to “create a legacy” by Terri M. Lynn, M.T.S, coordinating legacy gift planning marketing for the archdiocese through the Office of Stewardship and Development.

INTRODUCTION: Fr. Henry Nouwen wrote, “There can be tears after weddings and smiles after funerals.” Such a short but profound statement. It spoke to me as to the objective we really have when we have committed to leave a charitable gift in our estate plans to our favorite charity. Isn’t a smile what we want our loved ones to have after we die? So, I have chosen it for the title of this blog. I plan to share thoughts that I find as I travel the planned giving world on the Internet, through this Blog platform. If you find any thoughts or reflections on what it means to “create a legacy” please email them to me and I will post them here.
