Human Trafficking is a modern day slavery that takes many forms and has many different kinds of victims. Some of these victims are in our neighborhoods, going unnoticed; and some of these victims are far away enslaved for economic gain with our unknowning financial participation.
As Chistians we need to become aware, pray, and (when we can) protect and help these victims.

ARCHBISHOP NAUMANN ON THE TERRIBLE CRIME OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING
In May of 2018 on Catholic Radio Archbisshop Naumann interviewed Deacon Brad Sloan and Reverend Barry Feaker of Topeka Rescue Mission about the Church’s efforts to raise awareness about the terrible crime of human trafficking and how it is closer to home than one might think.

The Department of Migrant and Refugee Services estimates that there are approximately 21 million victims of human trafficking worldwide and estimates that, annually, 17,500 men, women and children are victims of trafficked across the borders of the United States and are forced into slavery.
February 8 is the Feast Day of St. Josephine Bakhita, patron saint of victims of human trafficking.
