Parish Evangelization Services

Parish Evangelization Services exists to strengthen and support parishes across Northeast Kansas as they live out the mission of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. Rooted in servant leadership and collaboration, the department works to increase parish capacity so that every parish can more effectively form disciples and accompany people in their journey of faith.

Under the leadership of the Director of Parish Evangelization Services, the department provides consultation, training, resources, and best practices to parishes and deaneries. We partner closely with pastors, parish leaders, and deanery leadership to build sustainable, effective ministry approaches that are responsive to the diverse needs of our faith communities.

Parish Evangelization Services supports parishes in key areas of ministry, including:

Charity and Mercy: with attention to outreach to individuals who are deaf or have disabilities, multilingual communities, underserved populations, those who are imprisoned, and communities at the peripheries.
Evangelization & Catholic Formation: includes Adult & Children’s Catechesis.
Human Dignity: includes Pro-Life, Social Justice, Foster Care and Project Rachel/Gabriel Project.

Our team develops and delivers formation opportunities for parish ministers and adult leaders, focusing on leadership development, theological formation, and spiritual growth. We assist parishes with training aligned with the National Competencies for Lay Ecclesial Ministers, including youth ministry and intercultural competencies, while also identifying and sharing best practices across the Archdiocese.

Through collaboration, consultation, and thoughtful stewardship of resources, Parish Evangelization Services helps parishes move from vision to action by strengthening ministries, fostering communion, and equipping leaders to serve God’s people with excellence, compassion, and faith.
