All parishes are encouraged to promote stewardship of all parishioners not only to support the work of the church, but also to encourage spiritual growth through good stewardship. Parishes that provide for the Catholic education of their children through parish tithing have a special obligation to ensure that proper IRS guidelines are followed.
All parishes should support the Ministry of Catholic Schools and financially support Catholic education for their parishioners whenever it is possible and reasonable. The Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas has established particular guidelines and a summary of legal correspondences for the funding of Catholic schools.
