1:00 to 4:30 pm
Corpus Christi Catholic Parish in Lawrence
Join Fr. Dan Morris (Vocation Director), seminarians Trey Niesen and Matthias Saiki, area priests, and a host of other young men just like you as together we unpack the simple, but life-changing words of Jesus: “Follow Me” (Matthew 4:19).
An entry-level Vocation Office event, Project Andrew is designed to help young men (8th through 12th grades) learn what being a disciple of Jesus Christ should look like during these formative years of their life, as well as give them the tools and a roadmap helping them to grow into the men that Jesus Christ has made and is calling them to be. Through a combination of media, dialogue, witnesses by our seminarians + priests – as well as time for Eucharistic Adoration + Q & A – everyone who attends will learn: 1) What is at the ‘heart’ of being a man?; 2) The four marks / levels of ‘identity’ that every man is made + called by God to fulfill (i.e., a ‘son’, a ‘brother’, a ‘father’, and a ‘bridegroom’) ; 3) Wisdom on how to identify + overcome the ‘challenges’ + ‘pitfalls’ that the Enemy attempts to sow on our path to becoming the men that Jesus Christ is calling us to be; 4) How every man is made to be a ‘spiritual father’ and ‘priest’; 5) How to make a ‘good discernment’; 6) What seminary ‘is’ and ‘is not’ – getting a glimpse into the day-to-day life of a seminarian + priest; and last but not least, 7) ‘Why’ + ‘When’ a young man should say ‘yes’ to an invitation to enter seminary in order to discern a calling to become a Catholic Priest. All who attend will leave better able to discern, discover, and be prepared to say ‘yes’ to the particular vocation that Jesus Christ is calling him to, whatever that may be.
On Sunday, October 26th from 1:00-4:30 pm high school guys will have the chance to explore some of the most common questions about this particular vocation and calling with witness talks, small group discussion, and time with our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration.
