Commonly asked questions about the 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration:
When can I receive my certificate and picture with the Archbishop? Certificates will be available at the reception after mass. Any certificates that are not picked up will then be mailed to you with the address we have on file. A picture opportunity with the Archbishop will also be available after mass in the reception hall. A complimentary picture will then be printed and mailed to you by our office within the next couple months.
Where is the mass and reception held? The mass will be held Sunday, June 1st, 2025 at 2 pm in The Church of the Nativity in Leawood KS. A light reception will follow in the Parish hall downstairs.
Does this mass fulfill my Sunday obligation? Yes it does!
Can I bring my family to the mass and reception? Absolutely! We would love to have your family come celebrate you! Please just let us know how many will be in your group for the Mass and Light Reception to follow!
Will there be a renewal of promises? Yes! After the homily, the Archbishop will ask all jubilarian couples to stand and face one another to renew the promises of their love. Following communion the couples will then be asked to approach the altar and receive a small gift from the Archbishop.
What should we wear? We only request that attire worn by all attendees be appropriate for mass. Besides this you are free to dress as fancy as you would like! Some wear business casual attire while others opt for long dresses and suits with ties! Note that there will be an opportunity for a professional picture taken with the Archbishop following the mass in the reception hall.
Will there be food at the Reception? Yes! Light refreshments will be offered along with cake and drinks.
