How long is Prayer & Action?

Most weeks run Sunday evening to Friday at noon (5 nights).
The special July 8–12 session runs Wednesday evening to Sunday after lunch (4 nights).

Who can attend?

• High school youth (incoming 9th–graduating 12th) through parish youth groups.

• Each parish must bring VIRTUS-trained adult chaperones: 1 adult per 7 teens of the same gender.

• School groups may bring up to 12 students with at least 4 adults.

How much does it cost?

• $250 per person (youth or adult) before April 2.

• $275 from April 3 – May 1.

• $300 after May 2.
  Fees are collected through your parish leader.

What kind of work will we do?

Projects include painting, yard work, cleaning, minor repairs, food pantries, and VBS. No experience is required—just a servant’s heart.

How supervised is the week?

• 1 adult per 7 teens at all times.

• Safe, well-organized projects (no dangerous work).

• Frequent breaks, water, and first aid available.

Where do we sleep?

• Boys and girls stay in separate areas with same-gender adult chaperones.

• Sleeping is typically on classroom floors in sleeping bags.

• At least 2 adults per room are required.

What about transportation?

Each parish provides its own vehicles for travel to the site and to daily worksites. One van per 7 people is ideal.

Do adults need background checks?

Yes. All adult chaperones (21+) must be VIRTUS trained and background-checked according to Archdiocesan policy.

Why a service retreat?

Serving others changes lives—often our own most of all. Prayer & Action combines service during the day with evening retreat time (Collatio) for worship, community, and growing in Christ.

What spiritual opportunities are offered?

Participants encounter Christ through:
