All donations from individuals like you support Prairie Star Ranch, a ministry of the Archdiocese of Kansas City, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization connecting youth and families to Christ. Together, through retreat and summer camp ministries, we share the transformative power of God’s love.

Endowments

An endowment is a permanent investment of gifts from which the income earned will be used to support the ministry of Prairie Star Ranch. Only the income or interest earned is available for distribution, so the donor’s original gift is never spent.

As a result, endowed funds provide a perpetual, supplemental source of income for such things as the enhancement of programs, facilities maintenance, scholarship assistance, etc. By planning today, endowment funds provide a vehicle through which individuals make outright or planned gifts that will have an everlasting impact on the ministry of Prairie Star Ranch, and in time, the income generated by the gift will far exceed the original donation.

Thanks to generous donors, the following Endowments have been established to provide scholarship assistance for groups/individuals attending Prairie Star Ranch and Camp Tekakwitha:

Planned Giving

he purpose of planned giving is to assist in meeting the needs of Prairie Star Ranch for generations to come. Gifts to our ministry are acts of hope for the future.

Help us share the Gospel on Horseback

Your sponsorship of a horse covers the basic costs of feed, veterinary care, worming, farrier, and tack. Your donation is tax-deductible and is a wonderful gift-giving opportunity for a child or spouse. In return, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to care for a very special creature of God so that youth and families can encounter the Lord.

Full Sponsorship

$400/semiannually, or $800/year

Select your horse. You will be covering food and basic veterinary, as well as farrier and grooming, and expenses at the Ranch for one year.

Partial Sponsorship

$25/month, $75 quarterly, or $300/year

You will share your horse with another person, and together the donations will be used toward that horse’s food, veterinary, and grooming expenses for a year.

Special Donations

We also accept one time gifts of any amount, or donation of equipment, tack, and equine items. Please call our office at 785-746-5693 to speak about material donations.
