Thank you to the hundreds of delegates who convened this past September to launch a corporal and spiritual works of mercy movement in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas!
By God’s grace we’ve made a great start.
Parishes are invited to send a delegation to this exciting one-day summit event. Not only will delegates brainstorm and discuss what the “Year of Going Out on Mission” will look like for their parishes, this event will offer new tools, resources and ideas to empower parishes and/or enhance what parishes are already doing to evangelize through concrete acts of love and authentic accompaniment.
To encourage parish leaders – and all interested Catholics – to explore life on mission for themselves and their parish communities in this Eucharistic Revival Year of Mission
To equip attendees with tools and resources for themselves and their parish communities that will:
strengthen a commitment to a life on mission as the call of every Christian
build on the grace of the Eucharist to better accompany others in discipleship
improve awareness of the works of mercy ministry efforts at the parish and archdiocesan levels so to better tend to those being accompanied
To unite an active community of prayer and action to live as local Missionary Disciples, reflecting the love of Jesus through concrete acts of love and mercy for our neighbors
From 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, delegates will be engaged in:
These powerful talks will motivate your delegation to bring the fire back home.
Each delegation will have ample opportunity to converse with one another.
Prayer will be woven into each element of the day, with a special Mass to cap it all off!
The bedrock foundation of relationship: communication.
Push the boundaries of your comfort zone and learn to love through Jesus' Heart.
"Each week from Sunday mass, you and I, we are sent on a mission to bring God's love to the world, to transform the world – not with power or military, arms, or money or things money can buy, but with servant love. We are called to transform the world with the love of the One who died on the cross, who makes Himself present to us through the Sacrifice of the Mass. We are called to allow others to touch the wounds of the Crucified One through our being bears of the merciful love of Jesus – the very One we receive in this blessed sacrament."
- Archbishop Joseph Naumann | Homily from Behold KC Eucharistic Celebration, (May 4, 2024)
For your parish delegation, consider clergy, parish staff and or parishioners who can bring back tools to the parish and help inspire others to go on mission. Existing parish leaders who have a heart and passion for corporal and spiritual work of mercy should be strongly considered. Additionally, past Enflame Convocation attendees who desire to continue the Enflame Our Communities phase are more than welcome.
Equip parishioners to be a first responder to persons they encounter who are suffering or in need by knowing how to connect them to a Church ministry or support group.
Improve ministry collaboration between the Parish, ArchKCK and community.
Raise mutual awareness of works of mercy and justice ministry efforts.
Witness the gospel of life so that more will be served and be inspired to serve.
Build camaraderie, have fun, inspire delegates to minister and serve.
