Come into the Light: Church Interiors for the Celebration of Liturgy
Church architecture supports the rituals we do when celebrating liturgy, and church art expresses the deeper meaning of these actions. Come into the Light describes how our actions narrate the mystery celebrated, and how these actions are then supported by the design and arrangement of church buildings and their deeper meaning is revealed in their artistic programs.
Fr. Daniel McCarthy, OSB, is a monk of St. Benedict’s Abbey in Atchison, Kansas. He teaches liturgy in Rome and London. In Kansas, he offers “Architecture for Liturgy” for architects, diocesan personnel and parishes preparing to renovate or build a new church (click here to read more about these presentations).
The book was mentioned during EWTN Live with Fr. Mitch Packwa and can be viewed with more information here.
The book is available online from St. Benedict’s Abbey Shop.
