The Catholic Fine Arts Council (CFAC) was formed by a resolution of the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas on May 28, 2009. The organization seeks to help individuals, artists, educators and patrons to participate in the mission of the Catholic Fine Arts Council, which includes several principles, including support of Christian art education, archiving and cataloging sacred art within the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, and increasing access to exhibit and performance opportunities and dialogue for Christian artists.
Our mission is also consistent with the writing of the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops on artists and sacred art.
The CFAC is led by a group of very dedicated volunteers who have each been appointed to 3-year council terms by Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann. Voluntary membership in the CFAC is available through four Guilds to those interested in supporting the mission and vision of the organization. Contributions, free-will offerings and occasional entrance fees support the work of the CFAC.
