Sitting atop the Tequa Valley, our Main Lodge has been a hallmark of Prairie Star Ranch since we opened our doors.
With views overlooking our tranquil lakes and lush oak forests, the Main Lodge offers an ideal environment for all varieties of retreat and user groups.
This beautiful space can accommodate over 300 guests and provides an array of audiovisual options and other amenities, making it easy to see why the Main Lodge has been a favorite of retreatants for years. Rental of the Main Lodge includes the following spaces: the Disco Tek room, Fireside lounge, and Dining Hall room. The commercial kitchen may be rented separately.
The Apostles Lodge reminds of the connection between the Apostles of Jesus Christ and the bishops who have shepherded the Church for 2000 years.
Accommodating groups up to 100, this meeting space provides beautiful views of our forests alongside Covenant Lake.
A flexible space that can be customized to meet a group’s needs, it comes with a kitchenette, conference room, and a basic sound system.
With 12,500 sq ft. of multipurpose programming area, this large indoor gymnasium can host events from concerts to ball games, from movie premiers to more formal organizational ceremonies, from youth rallies to Eucharistic adoration.
The Hangar boasts a variety of recreational activities including the Pier’s Peak bouldering wall, ping pong, a basketball court, indoor Gaga ball, and more!
With a full-scale lighting system, its very own black-box movie theater, and countless other programming options, the Hangar is a space that can be used by all. The Hangar must be rented in conjunction with the Main Lodge or Apostles Lodge.
With seating for 20, the Blackbox Theatre offers guests a space to display and process films, with a 100″ projection screen and a surround-sound audio system. The six chapel style lights inside the theater were donated by Bishop Miege High School.
The Blackbox Theater is available as an add-on to the Hangar. Groups must rent both the Hangar and the Blackbox in order to utilize this space.
St. Kateri Tekakwitha Chapel sits at the very heart of Prairie Star Ranch. Completed in 2011, the chapel serves as the center of our communal and liturgical celebrations.
Nestled into the Mary, Star of the Prairie Shrine, the Chapel can accommodate groups with over 250 guests and has 4 formal confessionals with room to expand to 7 confessionals.
Whether used for private prayer, adoration, or the Holy Mass, this beautiful chapel is a place of joy and worship for all of our guests.
Spend time with the Lord in the great cathedral of creation. From tucked away grottos and beautiful statues, to an interactive rosary walk and Way of the Cross, there are a variety of places at Prairie Star to meditate and pray in the peace and quiet of the countryside.
Retreat groups are always encouraged to make use of these outdoor devotional spaces for communal or private prayer. Come stay a little while and rest in Him in the beauty of His creation.

Alpha and Omega Cabins are our two most popular choices for overnight accommodations. Each dorm-style cabin offers guests two distinct floors, accommodating between 36-42 twin-sized bunk beds.
Each floor offers guests a large common lounge area for gathering and relaxing. See the floor plans below for further details.
Alpha Up has 36 beds. Alpha Down has 42 beds.
Omega Up has 36 beds and Omega Down has 40 beds.

The newest addition to our overnight accommodations, Logos Cabin offers guests a more hotel-style experience. Each room offers guests three twin-sized beds as well as one full-sized bed, along with their own HVAC controls, making it perfect for families and guests looking for a few added comforts.
The Journeymen’s Suites on each floor include a private sitting area, bathroom, and work desk. Two lounges, one on each floor, offer guests a conference room and gathering space.

In an effort to repurpose existing structures, Prairie Star Ranch transformed what was once an equestrian stable into this charming and character-rich bunkhouse.
Trinity Bunkhouse maintains the oak stalls and sliding doors from its day with the horses, yet still offers guests a comfortable stay with its carpeted flooring, common bathroom, and HVAC system.
Trinity Bunkhouse has 74 beds.
Offering you a spacious and relaxing space for your retreat, the Guesthouse has three large bedrooms, totaling six beds. It has a full kitchen, dining room, and two living rooms.
Equipped with wifi, a large flat-screen television, and covered front deck, this home-away-from-home offers a wide array of comfort and amenities. This guesthouse sleeps 8-10.
Conveniently located adjacent to the Main Lodge and Apostles Lodge, St. Joseph’s Apartment offers guests a variety of amenities.
With its own galley kitchen and laundry facilities, whirlpool tub and sitting area, dining area and deck, this apartment is the space of choice for many of our groups.

Tucked into a quiet wooded alcove not far from the St. Kateri Chapel, the Kapaun House can accommodate up to two priests, each with their own bedroom and bathroom. With a comfortable living room, full kitchen, laundry facilities, and covered back deck overlooking the Hidden Valley Trail, the Kapaun House is the perfect home away from home for our visiting priests, whether they’re serving as a chaplain for a weekend retreat group or getting away for a longer personal retreat.
Priests serving as chaplains for retreat groups stay at no cost, and the Kapaun House is for the exclusive use of priests, religious, and consecrated persons.
Prairie Star is situated on 291 beautiful acres of sprawling prairie, wooded forests, and clear blue lakes.
The center of property sports plenty of open, flat ground for games and large-group activities, as well as beautiful groves of trees perfect for lounging and lingering in the shade. Don’t forget the beautiful views overlooking our two lakes, which offer chances for fishing, canoeing/kayaking, or swimming.
Nestled in our wooded forests are many well-tended hiking trails of varying lengths, many of which follow along the curving path of Tequa Creek. Beyond the forests, expansive prairieland houses our herd of roughly 30 horses.
