Other Ways to Help
Foster care is an opportunity for us all to provide prayer and support to vulnerable children and the caregivers who selflessly serve them. If you are not being called to foster, consider the following ways to help.

Caring for the orphan is a demand of the Gospel. We must open our hearts to see these vulnerable children as our children. Our parish communities can live the corporal works of mercy through foster care – Feed the Hungry, Give Drink to the Thirsty, Shelter the Homeless, Give Alms to the Poor — by raising up more loving foster families and increasing our support to them. Even if you are not able to foster at this time, there are many other ways to help!
Every child is a precious, unique gift from God who deserves a loving family and a stable home life. Sadly, each day in Kansas, children are removed from their homes by no fault of their own for a variety of reasons. Often these children — from babies to teens — have been separated from their parents because they are unsafe, abused or neglected or their parents are unable to care for them.
Every child is a precious, unique gift from God who deserves a loving family and a stable home life. Answering this call is part of the Gospel mandate to go forth as missionary disciples, doing the will of God the Father. We are the hands and feet and HOMES for God’s protective care for all His children.
2025 is the international year of Jubilee: Pilgrims of Hope, as issued by the Vatican. The Year of Jubilee is full of opportunities for spiritual growth and the spreading of the Good News of Jesus Christ, and several of those opportunities have plenary indulgence attached if specific criteria are met. The Archdiocese is encouraging all Catholics to find ways to celebrate the Jubilee. Check back throughout the year as additional opportunities are anticipated.
