The Congress is about more than just gathering for the sake of gathering. It is about encounter and mission. How do we, as a Church, go boldly on mission to invite the world to a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ in his Church? We do so by being “healed, formed, converted, and unified” through a renewed Encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist so we can be sent on mission, “for the life of the world.”

The bishops are encouraging every parish in the United States to be represented at the Congress in some way. This is meant to be a gathering of the whole Church, walking together on mission. The key question for you, as a pastor is, “Whom from my parish do I want on mission with me?” This could be a small group, your leadership team, your “three.” It could be a broader group, some key staff and maybe the pastoral council, your “twelve.” Or, as some parishes are doing, you could bring multiple busloads of missionary disciples, ready to be activated as Eucharistic Missionaries in your community.
