Links & Hints
Next July, 80,000 Catholics from all over the U.S. will gather in Indianapolis for a transformative encounter with our Eucharistic Lord. Together, we will ask him to revive our hearts, our Church, and our world, launching us into a new chapter of missionary faith. The National Eucharistic Congress will prove to be the Catholic event of the decade and a milestone within the National Eucharistic Revival.
God is doing something amazing, right now. He has established this moment—this movement—to bring the hearts of the faithful back to him. If we don’t answer the call, the Church will stay on the current trajectory: decline and disbelief will continue, and we will leave Christ’s call unanswered. Jesus says to us in Luke 12:49, and he says to us again here and now, “I have come to set the world on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing”!
God is going to do something important at the 10th National Eucharistic Congress. We encourage you to consider how it can be a channel for local renewal in your parish by bringing a group. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity for grace! The Archdiocesan Eucharistic Congress Trip includes: Event Passes (all five days) and Downtown Hotel (4 nights), travel options will be made available this fall. A brochure, f.a.q., and bulletin announcement are attached and the link to register is:
It is strongly recommended that you secure travel insurance, as all payments are non-refundable.
The Congress is about more than just gathering for the sake of gathering. It is about encounter and mission. How do we, as a Church, go boldly on mission to invite the world to a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ in his Church? We do so by being “healed, formed, converted, and unified” through a renewed Encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist so we can be sent on mission, “for the life of the world.”
The bishops are encouraging every parish in the United States to be represented at the Congress in some way. This is meant to be a gathering of the whole Church, walking together on mission. The key question for you, as a pastor is, “Whom from my parish do I want on mission with me?” This could be a small group, your leadership team, your “three.” It could be a broader group, some key staff and maybe the pastoral council, your “twelve.” Or, as some parishes are doing, you could bring multiple busloads of missionary disciples, ready to be activated as Eucharistic Missionaries in your community.
