Additional Health Procedures
Camp Tekakwitha cares deeply about the health and welfare of every camper. We carefully prepare our facilities for our campers. We thoroughly clean and sanitize every day under normal circumstances. Our practices have been developed using guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control, the American Camping Association and medical professionals. We have intensified these procedures in light of our current situation. We will conduct a more vigorous pre-screening process than our normal process that includes steps to help prevent the spread of the virus and other contagions.
We will be observing social distance, washing our hands a lot and wearing masks as needed. All camp buildings will have a needlepoint bipolar ionization unit installed in the air ducts. This system will provide an added layer of safety. To learn about this ionization system click here. Staff and campers will have daily screening and temperature checks. Those with a fever of 100 and above will be asked to leave until fever-free for 48 hours and additional safeguards as recommended by the state, CDC and American Camping Association may be required as dictated by timely information. Safety, faith and fun are always our priorities.
