As we enter the third year of the National Eucharistic Revival, this is a providential opportunity for every parish in the United States to participate in a kerygmatic preaching series for those five weeks, proclaiming Eucharistic theology from the pulpit in a special unified way.

July 27-28: Introduction to the Homily Series (John 6:1-15)
Aug 3 – 4: Presence (John 6:24-35)
Aug 10-11: Sacrifice (John 6:41-51)
Aug 17-18: Communion (John 6:51-58)
Aug 24-25: Mission (John 6:60-69)

Unscripted & Unified in theme and focus

The weekend after the Congress, the Sunday Gospel will turn to the Bread of Life discourse in John 6, where it will remain for five weeks—from July 28 to August 25. This couldn’t be better timing! As we enter the third year of the National Eucharistic Revival, this is a providential opportunity for every parish in the United States to participate in a kerygmatic preaching series for those five weeks, proclaiming Eucharistic theology from the pulpit in a special unified way.

This is not a scripted homily series, but it will be unified by the same themes across America. Every homilist is invited to write his own individual homilies using the resource provided below as a helpful guide.

Deacon Dana Nearmyer heads up the Office of Evangelization for the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. His role is to serve pastors and parish leaders in the area of Evangelization.

Emily partners with pastors and lay leaders to talk with them about their parish identity, their vision, their parish’s strengths and weaknesses, and how they see evangelization being improved in their community.
