Common Questions

  • We ask that all activities have a minimum of at least 10 participants.
  • As the weather is prone to change, our team is used to being flexible. If inclimate weather prevents us from facilitating an activity during the scheduled time, we will try to re-work the schedule to get it included at a different time. However, if the weather prohibits us from safely facilitating the activity and we cannot reschedule, you will not be charged for the missed activity.
  • For the safety of participants and our team, activities will not run if the wind chill temperature is at or below 40°F or the wet bulb temperature is above 90°F.
  • Swimming will not be offered unless the water temperature is at or above 70°F with an air temperature at or above 72°F.
  • Kayaking or Canoeing will not be offered unless the combination of water and air temperature is equal to 100°F.
  • All ground activities require close-toed shoes.
  • Waterfront activities require foot coverings (water shoes or old tennis shoes) and modest swimwear. Lifejackets will be provided.
  • Horseback riders should wear long pants. Helmets will be provided.
  • Other than these pieces, dress for the weather.  So if it’s cold, layer up. If it is hot, wear shorts and a t-shirt.
  • As a retreat center our first priority is to help individuals draw closer to Jesus Christ. While we do this through outdoor adventure and relational ministry, which often includes activities, the focus is not on the activities. Therefore, groups wanting to incorporate activities into their retreat experiences are asked to request all activities no less than 1 month before the retreat.
  • All of our high-adventure activities are both staff and weather dependent. We will strive to incorporate these tools of evangelization, but sometimes it is not possible.

Waivers

We understand that collecting forms can be difficult, so we have given you access to our release waivers in order to make that process as simple as possible. Before participating in any of our adventure activities, a signed release waiver is required.
