Parish Missionary to Youth

Position Summary: Church of the Ascension Catholic Parish in Overland Park, KS is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven individual to help craft, launch, and sustain a new Catholic youth program focused on high school teens. This position will play a key role in shaping the vision, culture, and ongoing growth of this initiative.

The ideal candidate is outgoing, skilled at networking, and able to build trust across a wide range of ages, including teens, parents, parish staff, and adult volunteers.

This individual will engage both churched and unchurched youth, inviting them into deeper participation in the life of the parish. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and forming a core team of adult and teen leaders; organizing outreach initiatives built around interest groups; and facilitating retreats, mission trips, service projects, and potential diocesan events as avenues for evangelization and encounter.

We believe that accompanying teens through intentional, one-on-one mentoring is essential to this role and central to fostering authentic discipleship.
